Cyril Abiteboul is a French businessman and former team principal of the Renault Formula 1 team. He was born on October 14, 1977 in Paris, France. Abiteboul studied at the Ecole centrale de Paris and graduated with a degree in engineering.
Abiteboul began his career in motorsport in various roles within the Renault team in the early 2000s. He later joined the Caterham F1 team as team principal in 2012, before returning to Renault in 2014 as managing director. In 2016, he was appointed team principal of the Renault F1 team.
During his tenure as team principal, Abiteboul oversaw the rebranding of the team as Alpine F1 Team in 2021. However, he was unexpectedly replaced as team principal in January 2021, with Laurent Rossi taking over the role.
Abiteboul is known for his strong leadership skills and dedication to the sport of Formula 1. He is also highly respected within the motorsport industry for his technical knowledge and strategic approach to team management.
